Izzy Locke is an Australian-UK based DJ and producer who draws on breakbeats, acid and melodic synths in both her production and mixing. As a DJ, she has played in Ukraine, Palestine and Georgia as well as the UK and has contributed mixes for FOLD’s DETECT series as well as the Polish-based collective Oramics. In her production, she experiments with sounds from the more ephemeral side of the techno spectrum, with several releases on compilations including Cut the Wire (PL), Music For Change (AUS), Vief (UK) and Do as You Please (UK).

The EP For The Birds follows no specific theme, but rather explores a range of sounds and elements of electronic music, which Izzy both enjoys and found quite natural to make. The breaks, glitches, synths and acid tones that she loves in electronic music inspired the process of creating each track.

The main track on the EP, For The Birds, felt quite transcendental and euphoric both in the production process and in its final form. As it is the first track she made, it influenced the direction for the following tracks and general tone of the EP.
